With the launch of the new website, we wanted to give fans more information about our history and future plans!
The Imperial was founded back in 2008 by Chris Marsh, now one of the co-owners of www.dexerto.com. Back then the organisation housed some of the worlds best console teams in games such as Call of Duty, Halo, FIFA, and Gears of War.
In 2009 the PC division was born when Oli Adams, now the CEO and Co-Owner of Imperial, joined The Imperial bringing in more top teams. For over a year The Imperial competed with the very best across titles such as Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source and Call of Duty 4. The PC divisions biggest success story was in CSS when we were the #1 ranked team in the world with the all-star Danish lineup of - FeTiSh, wantz, v1ctor, gravity, and purity. Unfortunately, eSports back in 2009-2010 wasn't as profitable as it is now and we were forced to shut down the brand.
In late 2016, Oli Adams relaunched The Imperial. Since reforming the organisation has competed in several games, testing the waters. Our big breakthrough was the signing of the Danish DOTA2 team, Danish Bears. At the time, the team were ranked in the top50 worldwide. Within 3-4 months of joining, they were in the top15. The team then went on to sign with American giants, Cloud9 which was a great opportunity for them and thus ended our run in DOTA 2.
Since then, we've had mixed results in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive but have now settled down with an extremely talented lineup, as well as a team in the popular battle royale game, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS.
Here are the people, both staff and players who help Imperial day in, day out.
